March 2012, Buffalo,NY– A merger between Buffalo‐based firms Andreozzi Fickess LLP and Bluestein & Weber P.C. has been announced effective March 5, 2012. The merged firm will practice as Andreozzi, Bluestein, Weber, Brown LLP. The new firm’s professionals include former attorneys from Internal Revenue Service, Office of Chief Counsel, former Special Assistant United States Attorneys, and former Internal Revenue Service audit and collection personnel. Combined, the firm offers the services of 20 Buffalo‐based employees, working out of the firm’s offices at 333 International Drive, Williamsville, NY 14221 and 9145 Main St., Clarence, NY 14031.
Contemporaneously with the merger of the firms, Daniel F. Brown, previously a partner with Damon Morey LLP and a former Trial Attorney with the United States Department of Justice, Tax Division, is joining the merged firm. Mr. Brown’s experience handling bankruptcy and federal litigation enhances the new firm’s ability to provide clients with comprehensive solutions to today’s increasingly complex tax problems.
The newly formed firm will service a broad range of clients,from individuals and small businesses to mid‐cap and large‐cap companies. The firm will offer a full range of Federal and State tax controversy, litigation and bankruptcy services. Practice areas include international and criminal tax, collection and compromise, foreign banking and assets (FBAR and FATCA), welfare benefits, tax shelter defense and litigation, bankruptcy, administrative and financial accounting matters. The merger comes following a year of high growth rates and plans for expansion of the firms’ local, national and international footprint.
